Before starting the application
Make sure that the area where the scratch or stone chip to be touched is clean and dry. Always wear gloves when applying. (Gloves are included in the touch up paint kit)
Step 1 – Preparation
Paint, finishes and that all wax/polish must be removed from the chipped area. Always use the supplied protective gloves. Start the application process in a small area until you have fully accustomed yourself with the process. Best results to repair paint chips will be achieved by following the instructions fully.
Step 2 – Paint Application & Blending Solution
Shake the touch up paint quickly for approximately 1-2 minutes, the steel balls inside the bottle will help you to mix the paint thoroughly. Using a micro-brush, apply paint to the area with scratches or stone chips. (Firstly, begin by making small touches first to familiarize yourself with the application process.), Don’t worry for application errors, by using blending solution, you can remove the paint from the retouched area and start over the application.
Wait 4-5 minutes for the paint to dry after retouching, then pour the mixture solution in small quantities on POLYTEX cloth and clean with gentle pressure without pressing too much the overflowing paints from the touch-up area. Note that you can also remove the paint on the scratch while cleaning the overflowing paints on the deep and non-deep scratches. In the application videos of the touch up paint kit, you can see how deep and non-deep scratches work on stone chips.
Step 3 – Wax
Wait approximately 20 minutes after steps 1 and 2 are completed, pour in small quantities of polish onto the microfiber cloth to apply polish on the touch up paint area and apply it to the area you touch and around.
Deep scratches and large stone chips
You can repeat Steps 1 & 2 so as to build up the paint level within the chip should this be required. On particularly deep chips this process will have to be repeated multiple times so as to gradually increase the paint layer by layer.
Non-deep scratches and small stone chips
To give the retouched paint a smooth effect, you can swipe the paint using the white plastic card included in the product package. You can then remove any overflowing touch-up paints using the blending solution. Do not apply the blending solution directly to the retouched area, only use it to remove overflowing paint. Otherwise, the blending solution will remove the retouched paint.
The long-stored paint
All car paints are solvent (solvent is a volatile chemical) based. The long-stored paint may thicken in the bottle depending on the weather conditions, In this case, for thinning the paint you can add a small amount of blending solution into the paint and mix it.
When you make a mistake at any time you can remove the paint by applying Blending Solution and start over. Make sure the touched up area is completely dry to apply again touch-up the area cleaned with the blending solution.
It is recommended that the application process is used in temperatures above 0°C, as the paint drying process will be reduced.
