Color matching

I bought your kit for this color but I’m wondering if I can use it with a compressor and paint sprayer or airbrush that I also have for a better finish. I have read that I need to dilute or thin the paint to use a sprayer. Is that true?

Hi Selim, thank you for your question. Yes, you can apply the paint from our kit with an airbrush or a small touch-up spray gun. For small to medium repairs, this method usually gives a smoother, less visible finish than a brush. You read correctly about thinning. The paint is made to the right consistency for brush application, so it usually needs to be thinned a little before going through an airbrush or spray gun. Start by adding a small amount of suitable thinner and mix until the paint is about the consistency of milk. Always try it on a test surface first. A few important tips: Tanzanite Blue is a metallic color. Shake the paint thoroughly before use and stir it now and then while you work, so the metallic particles stay evenly spread. Apply several thin coats rather than one heavy coat. Wait 10–15 minutes between coats. Once the color coats are dry, apply clear coat. The clear coat gives the gloss and protection. Before you start, clean the surface of any grease and dust, and mask off the surrounding area. If you have any other questions, we'll be happy to help.
